decanterThe main feature of the May, 2015 issue of the well-regarded UK wine magazine, Decanter featured an article entitled, “Create the perfect Spanish cellar“. In it, Masters of Wine, Sarah Jane Evans and Pedro Ballesteros Torres lay out several selections for those who wish to create a cellar that represents the best of what Spanish wine currently has to offer.

They also included a section about current books to aid in expanding ones knowledge of Spanish wines wherein the entire selection of the Vinologue guides for Catalonia: Priorat, Montsant, and Empordà were recommended. Wonderful recognition from people very knowledgeable about Spanish wines in one of the world’s top publications on wine.

Vinologue web relaunch

We’re happy to announce a fresh relaunch of our website. This was done primarily to make it more “responsive” for better mobile and tablet access, but it was also to help organize our information in a format that makes everything easier to find as well as do a little housecleaning for sections that have been unused for some time. We realized that this had become quite crucial with the development of the new Destinations section that we’re excited about but we’ll be announcing more about this at a later date.

The other big announcement is that we’ve separated the Catalan website from this main website at www.vinologue.cat. While both websites were both serving the similar function of showcasing our books, the audience for general tourism is quite different than that for the local Catalan market. This split allows us to have much more direct and accurate information, relevant to each site.

We thank all our loyal readers over the years and hope you’ll continue to stay with us for the years to come.

High praise on JancisRobinson.com for Vinologue Priorat 2nd Edition

The annual book reviews for the website of Jancis Robinson, Master of Wine were recently published on her website and the fully-revised second edition of Vinologue Priorat received very high praise including, “…every wine region deserves an enotourism guide of this calibre, and every wine traveller wants a wine guide this good.”

The review also makes note of the depth of the guide–which holds profiles for 114 producers in Priorat as well as tasting notes and scores for 380 of their wines, “[the author] Hudin has somehow managed to cram a whack of information in without it feeling crowded.”

And the core purpose of the Vinologue guide series to focus on the wines foremost was quite clear to the reviewer, “The clean, elemental yet sharp practicality of this guide is ingenious. There is no fat on these pages, no frothy extraneous information, and it really is all about the wine.”

The review closes with, “What is unique about this guide is the brilliant insight that Hudin has into the mind of the producer and the mind of the traveller, and how, with this little book, he manages to get them both on speaking terms. More than a travel writer, he’s a bridge builder, an emissary.”

We at Vinologue are extremely pleased to hear such praise. We enjoy using this book to travel and taste around DOQ Priorat as much as those who are first time visitors or devotees to the wonderful wines emerging from this corner of Catalonia.

Learn more about Vinologue Priorat, and buy the book directly or with the companion book to neighboring DO Montsant.

Founded in 1996 in the UK to commemorate the life and work of pioneer importer Geoffrey Roberts, this annual award is a travel bursary to further the cause of New World or emerging region wines. There is only one recipient per year who is judged to have been making a positive difference in the world of wine. The award is currently presented by The Vintner’s Company that received its first Charter in 1363 and is one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London in the UK.

Thanks to the Geoffrey Roberts award, Miquel Hudin has now commenced research for a new title in his Vinologue enotourism book series which will extensively cover the different wine regions, grapes, cellars and wines of the Republic of Georgia. He is currently traveling across the entire country to visit and profile the best wineries as well as to taste and review the wines. Pre-Order Georgia: A guide to the cradle of wine

We have officially launched the pre-order campaign for our new book, “Georgia, A guide to the cradle of wine” which can be purchased at our online shop.

This book, which received the 2016 Geoffrey Roberts Award is an important moment in our series as it’s the 10th book we’ve published and so we took some time to reflect on how the series has evolved since we started it 10 years ago.

Thus this will now be a hardcover edition and slightly bigger than the previous paperback editions which will allow us to bridge the gap we’ve found lacking between massive coffee table books and light, non-durable paperback travel guides. This isn’t inconsequential as we’ve seen our books after several years of go-to use by wine professionals and they see a great deal of regular use.

You can now pre-order with a 15% discount until May 25th. Books will be sent out in the middle of June or as soon as they arrive from the printer and those who pre-order naturally see preference in the initial shipments.

We’re very excited to be sharing this change to the Vinologue series with you as what we’ve seen so far is shaping up to be a lovely, comprehensive, fully-independent resource to this fascinating land of wine.

We is pleased to announce the release of our newest title, “Georgia: A guide to the cradle of wine“. It was officially presented on June 9, the opening day of the 10th annual Winexpo in Tbilisi, Georgia, followed by a Q&A session with the authors at the popular Amber Bar in Tbilisi’s exciting Left Bank neighborhood.

The recipient of the Vintner Guild’s prestigious Geoffrey Roberts Award in 2016, the book is the culmination of months of research across the entire country of Georgia. The resulting book is 300 pages in length, with countless full color photographs, extensive maps, cellar listings, and a lovely hardcover binding.

As with the other books in the Vinologue series, the book focuses on helping anyone from first time visitors to experienced wine professional navigate the ancient and at times exotic nature of Georgian wines. While there is a special emphasis on the production of and use of the ancient terracotta pots called kvevri, the book also delves into the production of wines in the more international methods of stainless steel and oak, as well as everything that comes in between as the Georgians are continually experimenting given the modern upswing in interest for their wines.

The book’s two authors are experts in their relative fields. Miquel Hudin was the recipient of the Fortnum & Mason Award’s Best Drink Writer of 2017 and is a Certified Sommelier who writes for countless international wine publications. Daria Kholodilina is based in Tbilisi and is a local food and tourism expert.

The book is available for immediate purchase from our online shop with shipping around the world or via Amazon.

We are coming to November and you know exactly what that means… it is time to reflect in your own golf performance last season. You ought to be asking yourself whether you are content with your existing level of play. If you’re, you ought to be figuring out what you’re likely to do to keep this level of play following season. If you are not satisfied with your sport, you ought to be asking yourself exactly what you’re going to do to change things next year is going to be better.

Since most men and women wish to increase their sport, this report outlines a couple of things that you ought to do in order to take your game to a different level.

When the hot weather nears, the delight of this golf season is ferocious. The very first thought is that purchasing some new gear is going to be the solution. This can help a bit but shooting fantastic scores isn’t quite as straightforward as just buying new gear. If it had been, you would not be reading this suggestion.

Another thing that the ordinary player may do in the onset of the year, would be to visit their neighborhood pro to get a lesson or two. Regrettably, after one or two 2 lessons they do not find any immediate improvement in order that they get discouraged. Once frustrated, this individual begins to consider purchasing new gear again searching for that miracle remedy. This really is a never ending cycle which ends in no one earning considerable improvement.

Exactly what the average participant should do is working in their sport today, through the winter and frequently hereafter. Why today? Finding the correct swing fundamentals, short game strategy, psychological game and physical fitness takes a while so beginning today will find the ordinary player prepared to go at the beginning of the season. If you begin at the spring, then you are going to use prime golf time to make modifications. Why not makes modifications to your game today so which you may conquer your buddies next year?

Write your goals down using a deadline so that you can monitor your own progress. Goals are crucial. If you place your goals well beforehand, it is going to inspire you to reach them.

Select a skilled instructor. Other educators have various theories concerning the swing.

Establish a practice station in your home using a bit of 4′ x 4′ rug on the ground with a complete length mirror. People today believe you need to hit balls for better that is just not correct. Bear in mind, you’re attempting to make adjustments to your swing. If you’re able to frequently practice your swing rankings towards a mirror, then you’ll have the brand new swing places perfected from the time spring rolls around.

Layout a golf workout regime which includes stretches. More flexibility will radically boost your space. There are loads of programs available online.

Locate a fantastic software application which lets you monitor your stats following season. If it is possible to observe the weak regions of your game it’s possible to work on those particular places. Again, there are lots of programs available online.

Continue your education. The top players on the planet have trainers that they view frequently. When you’re first making adjustments you might need to take classes weekly. This is significant because what you feel you’re doing and what it is you’re really doing are two entirely different things.

Consult with a sports psychologist or read some books by the top sports pros in the company. Becoming emotionally tough is quite essential in letting you overcome the numerous adversities this game gifts.

Having the correct equipment is essential to your match. Ensure that you have the appropriate bottoms, so your lie angles are right, your grips are fresh and they’re the clubs you need to use. A fantastic club healthier will have a launch screen which will say the specific sort of clubs you need to use.

Hopefully, you know what is needed to become a much better player. It’s not quite as straightforward as just buying new nightclubs or taking the strange lesson. This might not seem like a great deal of fun but it sure is enjoyable including up a 75 in your scorecard.

When i watch beginner golfers take a shoti see that they are usually misalignedOn averagethey aim way too far from the bestThe rationale that they try to this best is really because the inexperienced player has the inclination hitting on the ball by making use of their arms which results in the ball to pull into the leftsideIt follows they are compensating for a flaw in their swing by just aiming their body from the proper as opposed to fixing the true defect.

This boils down , is the fact that the players‘ undesirable swings make the ball move on their ideal swings create the ball wind up in the treeseither or even bunker at the best of their objectConsequentlythey truly are watching with their very good shots as awful shots and poor shots asgood shotsIf that really is truethe player will not every desire to repair their swing defectsShould they don’t really mend their defects they’ll not ever get to their golfing prospectiveThis really is the reason why I phone positioning the main lesson from golf clubs.

The best way to manage alignment problems

As a way to learn when you’re a new player who gets fold defectsthen you ought to assess your own orientationTo do sowhatever you should do is select a focus on and then perform your ordinary pair upThe moment you truly feel as though you’re all setplace a club at your heels or feetAfter thatmeasure backwards about ten paces on the other side of the chunk to observe where you’re in reality targetedIn case the club you’ve set at your feet or heels will be left of one’s real goalthen you’ve precisely calibrated your selfIn case the club to the earth things into the best of one’s target you’re mis aligned.

In the event you discover that you’re mis alignedthen you must figure out how to pick up your own stanceTo do somerely locate a goal at the exact distance you would like to hit on the ball . Simply take two golf clubs which you just barely strikeJust take the very first club and then put down it at your markPut the 2nd club parallel into the club around a lawnTodaysimply take the club that’s pointing towards your markYou needs to possess one particular club in the earth that’s parallel into your left of one’s focus on.

Once you’ve the club on the floor parallel to your intended point you own helpful information that will assist you to align with your toeskneeskneesshoulders and shoulders straightenedIn the event you want the own body straight into the club about a lawn and also you hit on the ball into the remaining target you’ve just discovered that you’re yanking on the golf club that usually means you’re working going to on the ball far too much with just your own arms. That is not to be blamed on golf club, but sometimes, golf clubs can be the problem. I am a senior and i use Wilson Profile XD set, which i found by reading this guide. It is great. In the event you hit on the ball into the proper of this object in the square orientation you’re slipping your own body a lot of pus throughout impact that’s the reason for the ball to fly into the best side.

Learning which you’re mis aligned is often pretty shocking in the beginning but do not believe about it because a poor thingeven think about it being a great factorThis is really a fantastic thing as at this point you know you own a swing flaw also you’ll be able to get to the path to correcting it therefore you are able to play with better golf later on.

Why is it better to move your head in the backswing

I remember decades past after I started to play golfthe tip you’ve learned that the very best is to continue to keep your head still.

Just why proceed your own face when you get the club straight backYou’d like to go your thoughts as to be able to swing at a circular movement that you want a axis to swing roundAn axis includes a shirt and a baseAfter you place up into the golf ballthen you’ve got inch shirt to an axis along with two pliers into an axisWhich usually means that over the back your own thoughts should really be moving — 5 inches into your best in order to make your very first axis to swing roundYour thoughts will likely remain there because you return and collapse much farther back again through swayNextfollowing the ball was struckyour face tends to proceed ahead towards the top of their leg to develop another axisThis instant axis permits one to v circular turning on your golf swing letting you end your own swingWhat you’ve got is that a floating shirt into a single axisYour face floats forth and back to generate 2 axis whenever you’re runningThis lets one to swing at a circular movementIt isn’t really a ideal group even thoughThis is really a small ovalAs your swing can be really a small oblongyou’ll never reach on the ball thoroughly.

The single instance you want continue to keep your face is when you’d leg againIn the event that you’d one legthen you’d possess 1 shirt and one bottom into a axisWhich usually means that in case you transferred your thoughts you’d damage this particular axisTherefore we must be actively playing on standing on a single leg along with retaining our thoughts ? Regrettablythis won’t ever work since you are not going to generate plenty of ability and also you may probably encounter more thanThe majority of us have sufficient trouble maintaining their equilibrium 2 legs mind inch thus that it’s better for you to simply keep both the arms onto a lawn and figure out how to go your thoughts.

Lots of people I educate take to to maneuver back their head once I educate them they will have a challenging time doing it since it seems really embarrassing in order for them to maneuver their thoughtsTo acquire the suitable impressionyou need to feel as though your face is transferring roughly 1 foot into your properIn the event you truly feel as though your face is relocating inch foot into your directly in the backthis will only just go a couple inches.

Try out moving frequently in direction of a mirrorSince you see your self swingthen you may plainly see whether your face is transferring couple of inchesSince your face goes backthen believe the way your pounds heaps in to the most suitable legHere could be actually the telltale sign you have established your very first column at the backswingIn the event you have a richhighly effective sense on your right legthen you are going to need to maneuver your face only a tad bit more while you move straight back againIn the event that you have on a hat for those who play with golf only choose your backswing and check out determine whether the brim of this hat is flat to the bottom perhaps not directly into your left sideIn case the brim of this hat is flat to the bottom on summit of the backswing your face will probably have transferred the appropriate volumeAs your last test simply ask a buddy to see your own thoughts to determine whether it goes straight back a couple of inches or employ a video camera to watch for your selfIn case your face is still overly then remind to maneuver back it or have some body always remind one to maneuver your thoughts.

Golf clubs play significant role in all this, especially if you’re a lady and haven’t played golf before. Here are some golf clubs which will let you improve your game over time:

Since you proceed back your headremember it may possibly make you hit supporting the ball only a bit ofThis really is just a great hint initiallyIt truly is suggesting which you’re moving back your head neverthelessalso you have an excessive amount of burden in your own foot in the impressionTo fix hitting the ballwhatever you’ve got to do will be slightly bit more weight switch from your own foot throughout swayIn the event you need to doyou may reach on the ball with a great deal more electrical power than you’re utilized to.
